Freddie had always worked better at night even with his power being light manipulation. He lived in New York City, the city of lights, with the sun not in the way he was able to blind people, bust the lights, or turn them off. Making the few crimes he did very easy.
He was visiting a rather rural area with little to nothing, a few houses and a convenient store. He happened to be working as a cashier at the convenient store a friend lived right down the street, three houses down from the nearest corner. Usually he had his friend drive him to work, but today he felt like walking. It was only ten minutes and it wasn't like it was dangerous or anything, the roads were lit up with streetlights. That changed. The lights cut out for approxamitly five seconds and cut back on. Gunshots were heard within the store and Freddie began to run. He saw them climb into the car shutting their doors. HEY! WAIT! Freddie shouted and caught one of the robber's attention. He could tell the two were arguing over taking him out or not, but he was too sure. The man jumped in the car and started it. The engined reved and the gears could be heard grinding into reverse, it was a old and beat down car. A spot of paint was no where to be found on it, only rust.
The car pulled from its spot and came toward Freddie. Immediately he held out his hands and thrusted them forward, causing the lights to shine extremely bright. Freddie closed his eyes and flinched. The rumbling of the car had stopped, he killed the battery within the car. The guys within it were trying to adjust their eyes to the darkness, the street had blacked out. Sparks were the only source of light.
Freddie acted quickly, a few streetlights turning on once again, he ran toward the car and opened the door. Both men were complaining about how they couldn't see, he blinded them. He took the money from them and threw a punch at the driver so he wouldn't try anything, blind or not. The store still had lights on. He figured he could just make break with this money and blow the store that he used to work at up. Buh-bye. He said picking his hands up to his sides sirens could be heard. Police cars and black SUVs, as well as regular cars surrounded the area.
HANDS ON YOUR HEAD! A man in a black suit yelled with a gun pointed at Freddie's head.

Tonight was an okay night, Vivian wanted to be alone for a while so Marious just cut loose and traveled around the town. He loved the nighttime sky here in the city, the orange glow providing shadows wherever he was.
Marious sniffed the night air, relishing in the acrid smell of New York. It was something he associated with opportunity. But something distracted him from making any plans of theft. The lights were being erratic as few streets over. He teleported through a couple of shadows to see what happened. Police officers were apprehending some people, one guy with a gun to his head.
Marious sat there with a grin. It was going to be fun to see how this played out. With Vivian around he quickly developed a good attitude towards murder, the adrenaline from the act itself was pretty euphoric, then add to that the thrill of getting away. He just waited for the kid to do something stupid and get his head blown off, blood and brains splattering the pavement as his body drops with a satisfying thump.

Lana was doing her usually thing after a huge project – aimlessly wandering around. Sure the air in New York was nothing to compare to that of her home but she needed it none the less. The last job she had been given to completed had taken twice the time she had expected and she’d pretty much only just finished – as such she was no left with that feeling of yay it’s finished. and the now what the hell am I supposed to do? It was a cycle she went through every time she had a long job that demanded nearly all of her free time, she always seemed to end up dreadfully bored after.
When the lights started flickering erratically Lana tilted her head too one side to see if it were just a broken light or a problem with the whole street. It also reminded her that it was quickly becoming more and darker and if she wasn’t careful it would probably be light by the time she got home.
Face with the decision of head home now or not to bother for a few more hours she was not really rushing to decide. Her mind always got this way now and then but it was something Lana was so used to that it didn’t irritate her as much as you might think. It sometimes bugged people around her but she’d gotten good at ignoring that also.
However it seemed the world was deciding for her that an early night wasn’t acceptable, the flickering lights where behaving even more insanely down the street so she picked up her pace and headed out towards the middle of the road where everything seemed to be worse. It didn’t take long for her eyes to adjust to see several police cars and a few people. Lana realized she was probably going to stand out around here, her hair was enough to catch some ones attention what with it being very bright under the fluorescent lights. A general defect in Lana’s mind was that she instantly felt sorry for the person with a gun pointed to their head – even though they may have committed a crime of some fashion, Lana just could not abide by guns. She did however manage to keep quiet on the subject at this point of time thinking it wouldn’t be the wisest plan in the world.
